Hi, I was just wondering if there is anyone here who metal detects old battlefields. Sorry if this is a taboo subject or offends you, that is not my intention.
I just see a lot of videos of people looking for metal detectors in the Ruhr area and on the Seelow Heights and on all the battlefields...
Managed to visit this superb site on our trip a week or so back. Sadly another that has been badly beaten over time. There are still some nice shots though.
Its just about hanging in there, considering its location I am shocked at the amount of damage that appears to have been done to get into the house.
Tnks PGR and my apologies for not placing it in the right place to start with,
On a cool, clear winter morning, I took a short walk through the forest and came across a beautiful mausoleum that must have been regularly visited at some point by the descendants of the family interned there.
This lost place has been on the radar of Urbexers for over 10 years, yet it took me so long to track down I honestly thought I had missed the chance. Fast forward to a long anticipated trip to Belgium and Germany and I found myself staring at a dilapidated house that once must have the house to...
This site had been on my to-do list the moment I saw it hit the Urbex scene, fast forward a year or two and there I was standing in this pristine church. Many will see the images and say hold on I know this place by a different name, and you do it has been labeled as Swastika Church. Why is this...
Exactly the kind of people the community doesn't need.
We spent a few hours in these tunnels earlier this year. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures at the time as my main goal was the WWII shelter(s) on site... which I couldn't find.
Wow they look like Glis Glis (Edible doormice) we used to have a family living in my dads shed many years ago. I still remember him trying to pick one up and him styling out the pain of being bitten lol
Thanks go out to a fellow explorer of mine, Bikinglynn, who was running slightly ahead of us on his way to Belgium as he confirmed two of our sites were a no go and two more, including this one had access.
It was rather surreal he had left at 5am and here we were around the midday mark, having...
Another place that just sits empty in the vastness of Germany. I had seen some shots of this place on Faceplant and after some searching and checking and re-checking I finally found it. Even better, it was on our route for the next trip to my favorite Urbex destination.
Another place I don't...
Hi all I have been researching lost places, bunkers and the likes for years in the UK. I know the sites of use and best ways to use them. (Well it may not be the best but it works for me :-) )
Researching German bunkers and lost places is not new to me however I feel that there are sites...
a few British bunkers are part of the GCHQ holding line to slow down any invading force
St Martin's Deep Shelter
Langdon Hole Battery
Folkestone Marine Command Bunker
I have many more pictures from various locations here in the UK, some from the Maginot Line and a...
I live near Cambridge. I know this forum is dedicated to German bunkers, shelters etc. but if you would like to see some of the bunkers I visited in the UK I will upload some photos.
hi, I'm Martyn. I live in the UK but have spent a lot of time exploring the lost sites of the Cold War and WWII in Germany. Mainly around Berlin. Most recently I've been exploring the areas around Essen, Dortmund, Leipzig and Dresden.
I stumbled upon the site by chance while trying to track down...
